DNA Teaches Special Purpose Districts How to Harness the Power of Their Brand

Greenville S.C. (October 20, 2011) – Debbie Nelson, principal of DNA Creative Communications (DNA) attended the SC Association of Special Purpose Districts’ annual conference earlier this month to present on the importance of branding and its value within a government organization.

“Branding is essential to any organization’s marketing plan, particularly those that serve the public sector community,” said Nelson. “Government agencies that spend efforts on strategic branding can ultimately reinforce public awareness of their mission, as well as build confidence and trust in their operations.”

Special Purpose Districts (SPD) provide a variety of services tailored to address the service needs in the communities of which they are a part. Purposes range from police and fire protection to construction and maintenance of roads, water and sewer services. More than 50 officers representing SPDs around the state attended the annual conference, which gives members the opportunity to exchange ideas and hear guest speakers present on different aspects relevant to the industry. The conference was held at the Westin Poinsett in Greenville.
